The 4Cs
Every diamond, natural or lab-grown, is graded the same way. You'll find these details in each piece's specifications.
- Cut
- How the diamond is cut and polished, which shapes its sparkle.
- Color
- Graded on a letter scale from D (colorless) onward. The closer to D, the whiter the stone.
- Clarity
- How free the stone is of tiny inner marks, from FL (flawless) through VVS and VS to I.
- Carat
- The diamond's weight. One carat is 0.2 grams.
